About the Church

Welcome to Life Stone Wesleyan Church!

We exist to be a missional, disciple-making, sending church! Our passion is dynamic, authentic worship. Our message is unchanging: God is worthy to be praised, He desires to have an intimate, personal relationship with each of us, and we are better together. We want to help one another grow in Love, in Truth, in Wisdom, and live out the Great Commision. To help one another find their identity in Christ, and live out their calling.

We believe God calls us to pursue Him just as we are, so we nurture a casual, fun, and inviting atmosphere that is solely focused on engaging the presence of God.

History of Life Stone

Life Stone began in 1957 as a neighborhood mission of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. The founding pastor, Rev. J. N. Jump, started the church along with a handful of faithful people. In 1959, our first building was constructed, utilizing the skilled labor of church members. The total cost of the project was $10,000.

In 1968, the Pilgrim Holiness Church merged with the Wesleyan Church. The church experienced its ups and downs over the years, but remained in existence to minister to the Henrietta community, the community in which we continue to minister to this day.

The Lord started to breathe life into the church once again around 2013. Pastor Tim DePorter had just accepted the lead pastor position and started to make changes to bring health to the church. The Lord was faithful to begin growing our influence and impact. Families and individuals were drawn to Life Stone to be a part of what God was stirring among us.

As 2015 began, we heard the Lord calling us to take a giant step of faith. Just like God told Abraham in Genesis 12, we knew the Lord was calling us to sell the only campus Life Stone has ever known. We sold our building to the Rochester Chinese Christian Church, not yet knowing what the Lord had in store for us. Through a series of divine meetings, the Norman Howard School and Life Stone began talks about using their campus to do ministry. God did amazing things over the 2 years we were at Norman Howard. After our time there, God brought us through a time of transition not only building wise, but also renovating our heart.  We now meet at the Calvary Community Church, 4045 east Henrietta rd, hosting our service at 4pm on sundays. We know the Lord has positioned us to have greater influence in Henrietta, a place we love dearly. Our story is only beginning, and we anticipate a powerful move of His Spirit as we pursue Him in all we do. We would love for you to be a part of the story here at Life Stone!
