Pastor Tim grew up in Rochester, NY, and attended Gates Wesleyan’s youth group during his teen years. During eighth grade, he felt the Lord calling him to full-time ministry. He pursued an education in youth ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University, but left after one year. After many years of running from the call on his life, God began to redeem him. Pastor Matt Stewart began to counsel, mentor, and encourage Tim. Three years after he returned to the Lord, God opened up a door that led to a full-time assistant pastor’s position at Life Stone. During that time he attended the FLAME course offered through the Wesleyan Church for his educational equipping. God stretched Pastor Tim beyond what he thought was a “call to youth ministry.” He served as the assistant pastor at Life Stone for three years.
In Fall 2012, Pastor Tim was married and ordained in the same weekend. The transitions in life didn’t stop there as Tim and his wife Kara soon learned they would be having their first child. During that time, Pastor Matt felt God calling him to his next ministry assignment, leaving a need for a lead pastor at Life Stone. After seeking God for direction, Pastor Tim and Kara felt God calling them to serve at Life Stone. On July 13th, 2013, Pastor Tim became the Lead Pastor at Life Stone, and on July 26th, 2013, Eden Grace DePorter was born. Pastor Tim and Kara welcomed their second child Joviana Noelle DePorter into the world on December 23rd, 2014. They are grateful for the ways God has blessed their lives and are excited to see how God uses Life Stone to bring revival to Henrietta and beyond.
